What’s the benefit of epoxy countertops?
Epoxy countertops are cost-effective, have high corrosion resistance, are waterproof, and are heat resistant. You also have the ability to create gorgeous high-glass finishes, lasting for years. Last but not least epoxy countertops can easily be resurfaced years down the road to renew them.
Can you mix resin with water?
Can you apply epoxy over laminate?
You can most certainly use epoxy over laminate. The laminate must be prepped properly to ensure good adhesion. Proper cleaning, sanding, and priming for bonding.
Does epoxy smell?
Some epoxies have smells however I use Stonecoat epoxy which does not have VOCs and no smell, which makes it eco-safe.
What is the depth of epoxy countertops?
-The depth of your countertop is done in 1/8-inch layers. Normally it’s finished in 2 to 3 layers depending on the look and technique used. Deep pour countertops are different as it uses deep-pour epoxy.
What is the temperature epoxy can tolerate?
After the epoxy has cured, it can withstand 150°C or 300°F for a short period of time. You will still need to common sense and not set hot pots and pans on it.
