FAQ

What happens when you don’t mix your epoxy properly?

If your epoxy is not mixed properly you will end up with a product that will not cure properly. Too much resin or hardener will change the chemical reaction it will not cure properly.

Can you epoxy over cement?

Cement is a good surface to apply epoxy but the cement needs to be fully cured with no sealer and cannot be polished concrete. The concrete must be patched in all repairs if any cracks or chips need to be done. As well as any clean from grease. Also, note to use flooring epoxy.

Can you apply epoxy over stained wood?

Epoxy does not like oil, so the surface would need to be prepped properly. Personally, I will only do a resurfacing over stained wood, where I am working with an old piece that needs sanding and totally redoing. If you’re trying to epoxy over a newly stained surface, you need to find the proper steps to take.

Can you use epoxy on canvas?

Yes, you can use epoxy on canvas however because resin/epoxy has a bit of weight to it it can cause your canvas to stretch and sag. Do it properly, support the back with a piece of wood or cardboard before you apply the epoxy.

How durable is epoxy?

Epoxy is a non-porous material that is moisture and heat-resistant. It also provides long-lasting durable service.
